Image from our trip to Bosque del Apache.
We had a very enjoyable trip and all forms of weather. Snow, rain, sun, clouds, windy, no wind.

Nice shot. It takes a lot of patience to get close enough to get such detail. It is not often that we get to see the interesting pattern on the underwing. I've yet to catch one of these flying by.
Just curious, did you notice the characteristic head bobbing kestrals do while perched? I suspect it has to do with changing perspective as they search for prey, but have not read any explanations for it.
Please sir, could we have more?

Very nice shot, Larry. The unique pose shows off the bird's personality. All of the technicals look spot on and I like the composition.

I like the pose, congrats on capturing what is a tough bird to photograph, at least around here

Thanks Rob and Barry.
One just about has to catch them sitting, they move quickly and erratically.
