Wildflower season begins in the Columbia River Gorge as I took this Grass Widow image about an hour ago. There are enough flowers for macro work, but the fields of grass widows won't arrive for 2-3 more weeks. Should be a good season, unless we get some real cold temps. Some Piper's Desert Parsley has also begun to pop.

No way! Already! I saw a couple little things shooting up here in Hood River yesterday.

Yes Mark, already. The Turkey Vultures have returned to the gorge too, and they usually don't make it here until early March.

Gorgeous image, David - I love the colors and sharpness throughout! Yay, signs of spring!!!
Although we've had a very mild winter here in central Oregon, I'm am so excited that spring is just around the corner. It's unbelievable, but I actually have crocus, daffodils,, etc., starting to come up next to my house!!

Can spring be all that far away? I really love the vibrant colors you have here David. I will have to get out the gorge soon, appreciate the info.

I love the DOF here...and the colors appear to be spot on.

Nice David! It loks like we can expect a pretty good showing this spring in the Gorge. Although it's looking like the sub-alpine meadows won't be as bountiful this summer.
