On Reflection(Black Headed Gull)
Hi everyone,
It was such a nice afternoon on Friday I decided to kill an hour by a local pond, hoping to catch the Crested Grebes pairing up, but they were out of range of my lens, so I decided to try and capture some reflections as it was nice and still. Here is a Black Headed Gull, and it's reflection. Not a Crested Grebe, but beggars can't be choosers! All comments welcome.
Regards,
Paul. :wavey:

Hi Paul, nice reflection with good detail in the plumage. I see you have not put in any Exif. info. :toast:

A well exposed image and the still water and reflection works great. I think the composition would have been just a little stronger with the gull positioned just slightly higher in the frame and a little further over to one side, putting a little more of the free space below the birds reflection, rather than above it.
I like the ripples in the water in front of the bird, they add some extra interest to that area of water.

Beautiful colours and detail in the image Paul, looks really 'arty' and very different to your bird on a stick images, has bags of impact, the only thing I would have said was the image would have benefited from a lower POV  simply but beautiful  :wavey:

That works really nicely. I love the Clarity of the reflection and the way the ripples disappear off up to the right.

Love the detailing in the bird contrasted against the wispy white streaks reflected in the water
