Male Golden Eagle
An image taken recently in Norway along side Danny Green .Thank you Danny for your company in those long hours in the hide ,despite you sleeping through most of them..LOL
Arriving before dawn in the total darkness 3500ft up in the Norwegian mountains at temperatures of -21 .The gear coped admirably , the photographer shivering .
The excitement when one of these fellows turn up has to be restrained save any noise what so ever .One can understand the tension when a male and female arrive together . I have some images .
This particular day was perfect. Heavy snow a mild temperature of -10 ish and at just the right time of the day for the light .
An absolutely epic week of photography .
All C/C's welcome

The multiple feather angles just make this such an interesting image Mark :wavey:

I'd prefer to see it without the A3 crop and perhaps with maybe a tad more room right but I'm being a bit picky.

I'll have to see what I can raise you with next week

Wondered how long it would be before these started turning up

Glad you had a good trip and that's a different feather display for sure making a cracking action shot.

ISO 1000 - I know the conditions when you need that so it must have been cold!!

Superb image, full of drama. Worth suffering all that cold for.

Hi Mark, good to see you got something

Would like to see a vertical crop, but guess that's not possible. Agree with Andy that a tad more to the rhs would help with a bit more also at the top. Good action displayed in the pose, especially with those talons stretch out. Look forward to more. These kind of images do not warrant 'nice image'.

Certainly a different image to the usual streamlined and elegant bird we more commonly see and all the better for it :toast:

The power of the eagle really shows through in this image. Great work in those conditions. :toast:

Great capture in really tough conditions - I find the movement at such a moment is hard to keep in the viewfinder no matter how well prepped and disciplined you are so well done for not chopping a bit off and for capturing the full drama of the moment :toast:

Hello Mark.

What can I say other than excellent capture and a very powerful image.

I think you will be doing that lecture on your own at the club I'm not putting my common stuff against this

Would have prefered to see this as a vertical but a very strong image nevertheless!
Well done sitting in that cold with Mr. D.

This is a very nice picture of golden Eagle, with a bit more light I think the shot would have been even better. But, hey you did with what you had...

"This is my last post on this forum. I've made some great friends here so I hope that the mods will indulge me in saying to Danny also a big, big thank you, for a spectacular week, you're a legend, and Mark for your company also. Makes you realise the important things in life"

I agree with Julian `s quote above ..Danny "the legend" should get canonise when he dies.
