Moonrise Over Yellowstone Lake
I was actually hoping for rougher lake water as it usually is, but this turned out to be a pretty tranquil scene. Things rarely work out the way I want them to, so I just went with it hoping for the best. Cutting the rocks off on the right bothered me a bit. That's why I placed the moon to the left to try and balance things out. Any opinions much appreciated. Thanks for commenting on my last image awhile back.

Dangit, forgot to clean the sky, time to clean the sensor.

Dean... very beautiful...I really the location...the peaceful mood... the set of rocks you chose to include in the picture and the mood is also a beautiful addition. I don't know if it is just me but the area from middle ground to the foreground is a bit lighter than the sky itself... great job as always... :toast:

The rocks being cut off doesn't bother me a bit. I saw the horizontal image on your site, and it is nice to have the image totally clean and no cut off rocks, but the overwhelming beauty of the overall scene is what I see.

Beautiful scene, very calm. The rocks really anchor the composition well and balance well with the open airy sky and lake.

This is lovely and the cut off rock on the right doesn't bother me too. :toast:

Pure serenity with this one, Dean. Great pastels, and it bothers me only a little with the rocks. Beautiful shot!

I think the composition is spot on, and the pastel colors are wonderful

Love the tones and the simple composition. The reflection of the moon is a nice touch. Very serene.

Great scene. Well captured. I think this turned out much better without the rough water you had hoped for.

So do I.
That long thread of a reflection of the moon in the water adds so much to an already beautiful image! The cut off rocks don't bother me at all. Would like to see a horizontal version just to compare.

NIce image Dean. The distance between the rocks and the shoreline show the immensity of the Lake. The pastel colors and then the bonus of the moon really make the image standout.

The rest of the scene is so beautiful that it's easy to overlook the cutoff rocks. Nice one, Dean.
