I have a B&W 77mm slim mount CP. Will I be able to use it in conjunction with the Cokin Z-Pro holder and Singh Ray ND Grads I'm considering? My guess is probably not, but I'm not 100% sure how these filter systems all fit together. If not, then is the B&W CP I have a complete waste? Thanks

I have the same setup and find it almost impossible to use the CP and Z-holder with NDgrads. You can try to just barely screw the Z holder into the CP threads and then tweak it but it will fall off and give you a mess. You can get away with using the CP and a plain ND since there is no dividing line to have to line up with the horizon, etc. If you really need the CP and the ND grad then you'll probably have to bite the bullet and buy one made for the holder, not a very cheap option. Better to just use the CP and multiple exposures with post processing blends.

Hi Bruce,

If your CP does not have a front thread, then you have a problem. If it does have a front thread, then you can buy Cokin adapter rings that thread onto the CP and allow the Cokin Z-Pro holder to slide down over the ring. I use the same setup with a slim profile Hoya CP. It's still a bit of a pain because you have to dial in the CP before sliding the holder on, but it's do-able.

Thanks guys. Yeah, no front threads on the B&W CP. Bummer.

Bruce, I recently emailed Singh-Ray about a polarizer to fit the Cokin Z filter holder. They responded yesterday saying," we're just introducing a new Z-Pro Sprocket Ring version of our LB Warming Polarizer. It's available now from our online store: http://www.singh-ray.com/polarizers.html." I hope this might help you.
