this one is from Friday at Sam's Throne. I was headed to Keefe falls with Zach but Falling Water rd was to muddy and we had to turn around. So we headed to Kings Bluff/Pedestal Rocks and got caught in a heavy snow on the way there. We ended up at Sam's Throne that evening. Here are some snow shots from the past week and a half. I hope everyone else in Arkansas has been able to get out and enjoy the snow a little. If anyone else has some nice snow shots feel free to share them here if you want.

Really great stuff, Matt. Looks like you've been pretty busy. I especially like the Sam's Throne shot above. You might think about cropping/cloning the bright area of clouds in the upper right corner.

good idea Isaac. I have a bunch of other shots that it may not be as bright in.

One thing I forgot to mention. We stopped by the old Hankins Country Store in Sand Gap/Pelsor and talked with the new people running it. They seem like good people and they have pizzas, sandwiches, hotdogs, pies and all sorts of great looking stuff. All made from scratch. I told them I would pass the word around and hopefully send a little business their way.

Beautiful hot of from Sams T. Matt. I was up there earlier in the day, you may of seen my tracks if they weren't cover yet. Nice that you caught it in good conditions, it was in the clouds when I was there.
Youv'e been doing a great job on the bird photography also.

I saw a few sets of tracks. They all looked old though. Did you have to park up by the highway? That is what we did.

Yes I was in a front wheel drive so I had to be very careful. It probobly snowed an inch while I was shooting, so I can see why they were well covered.

I was on hwy 16 between Falling water and Pedestal rocks when all that heavy snow came down. Wasn't to far from you, I couldn't believe how hard it was snowing.

Matt, great shots on all counts. I especially like Sam's Throne. Wish I would have known you were going north. I would have loved to go along. Mike is still in New Orleans and I had no way to get out of Conway.

If I head out again I'll give you a shout.

Nice Sam's Throne shot, Matt. I like the black and white treatment, and this really conveys the look and feel of the Ozarks covered in snow. I was up there at Sam's Throne with a buddy on January 31 and tried to bushwhack down from the highway to a bluff below, but the snow was so deep that I didn't recognize the way and we turned back.

Thanks everyone. John, were you trying to come down from the parking area or somewhere off the highway?
