Along the Merced
This is an image taken back on a visit to Yosemite with my Dad last month. I'm not to thrilled with the snow. The histogram shows it's not blown out but it right on the edge I'm curious what others may think. Overall, I'm curious about the comp as well as the overall lighting. Any suggestions are appreciated. You can tell me it sucks too

It's hard to look at this image and really know what the subject is. If it is the tree, then it is too small in the frame. If it is the landscape, then it lacks a foreground element to give it depth. The tree somewhat serves this purpose, but not enough IMO. Also, the way the tree is in the frame is static, diagonally would be much more powerful.

Hey you found my tree! :wavey:

The exposure looks fine. But I think Rodney is onto it. The tree doesn't really work with the rest of the frame. Actually I think it works pretty well as a pano cropped above the tree.

You've captured the dormant feel of Yosemite in winter with out snow.

Mike, for me it either needs a lot more snow or a tighter comp on the log :frown:
