I spent Sunday afternoon at Rock Creek. This is just over the ridge from the Hurricane Creek Wilderness Area. Another falls is just down stream and is more prominent, with a distinct basin beneath. John Moore has an excellent series of this creek on his website under the link "Fall 2008".
nice looking shot Jan. This is a section of Arkansas I have really been wanting to explore.

Good wintertime shot Jan. And thank you for letting me know what this waterfall looks like.. it's been bugging me ever since I found it; it was quite dry that warm November afternoon. I'm amazed how deep the water is in your shot.. a couple of feet deep below that big boulder.
Did you come in from the 4-wheeler road on Parker Ridge Road? If so, do you remember how far this waterfall was from the 4-wheeler road? I'm planning a return trip, and I hope to come in that way.

Nice image Jan, especially for winter. Perfect exposure, color and composition IMHO.

Thanks guys, I sweated over this one. John, I hiked down the FS road with the opened gate from Parker Ridge Road. It was a four mile round trip. The deer camp trail to the south would be shorter, but steeper. I have a pano of the lower falls that I will post later. This area is truly amazing, and all of the water just makes it incredible. I can only imagine the shots you pros could get.

Jan you did just a beautiful job on this image. I'm not sure "the pro's could do any better" It's amazing it just doesn't look that big in your shot compared to the one John is in.

Very nice Jan. And the water appears to be very clear.

Very nice. Also a huge difference from the dry image.
I'm with Zach, Gale and Darren. The size is deceptive.

Really nice Jan! What a beautiful area. I'm with everyone else. I wouldn't have thought the area that big in scale just looking at your image. Thanks for posting the comparison John!
