Here is a shot from March of 2009. I was hoping for waterfalls in the Ozarks but at that time it was so unseasonably dry that I had to make a trip to the Smokies to see some waterfalls. Later on the lack of water here make a drastic turn-around and we ended up with the best waterfall season in many years with great action late into the fall. Recent snow and rain are getting us primed once again. For those of you not familiar with this spot there is a trail running right in behind the falls that leads up to the Lodge on Mt LeConte. It is supplied by lama trains that carry everything needed up to it. Not a stunner by any measure, but the RAW file was so bad and I was able to pull so much detail out of it that makes it at least viewable on the Web that I am proud. My Photoshop skills are not-they are more of liabilities. Looking back through these files has me yearning for the approaching spring and the rumble of water through the Ozarks.

This is a tough fall to shoot, no comparison to Pam's Grotto Falls here which I think is gorgeous. At least it wasn't crawling with people.
I am hoping to head over to GSMNP in April to shoot the moss and wildflowers. 2-3 week in April is about peak for wildflowers. They have had a tough winter and I heard a lot of trees dropped with the last few storms.

Good job on the ps work. Looks like some nice detail and color work.

Great capture.
I would like to see another rendition with the water (not on the shore rocks) in the foreground, especially the lower right area, darkened somewhat for contrast--to a brightness equal to or less than what in in the water on the left. Can you show us one???
Sublte change but it might make the waterfall really jump out and add some depth??? Just wondering.
