I just received this notice of a competition in my mailbox. Competition. There is an entry fee of $20.oo...but that is normal.
But, what makes me suspiciou, is that they state that adult entries be accompanied by a CREDIT CARD NUMBER!

Yes it's a legit competition, in fact it's one of the most prestigious nature photography competitions, and received over 43,000 image submissions last year. Taking payment by credit card is a whole lot simpler than trying to collect checks, cash, etc.

Just make sure any personal info goes to the Veolia folks and not someone posing as them
Floris...
Thanks....I'm just a newbie with photo contests. It just sounded like they wanted your credit card on deposit after you paid the $20.00
Thank you Floris so much. There are so many scams out there right now, that I'm really wary of anything that comes to my mailbox without my asking for it.

That website is in the UK. Is that where V. is based?

Google the contest and see if the same web address comes up. If so, then you are okay. If not, you found the legit site and enter through that address. And remember, just because it looks the same doesn't mean that it is the same site.
