Rolling Shadows
We had a foot of new snow and bright sunshine last weekend. I was repeatedly drawn to the shadows of the trees moving across the snow. Here the afternoon shadows are intersecting a small creek. I cropped this image to accentuate the horizontal lines.

Hi Chuck. I am 99.99% a color guy myself. But . . . . might this be more dramatic in B&W?

Jack, they don't have snow in Oregon?

Andy, here's a B&W version. I darkened the shadow areas in the color version as well and I like it better (you get the idea in the B&W version). Let me know what you think.

Chuck, I also like the color version better. I have been trying to capture this type of image in my local Metro Parks with no success so far. Your image gives me inspiration to keep trying.

I prefer the color version, Chuck....to me, it says "cold" much more so than the B&W. I also like the depression in the snow running diagonally through the image.

Neat shot, Chuck. The creek's bank adds a lot to this shot. My 2 cents are as follows; Color version depicts the cold. B/W is more 'artistic' and surreal. Keep 'em both!
