I thought I would share this with the group. I shot this yesterday (2-14-2010) on the Winona Scenic drive. When I left my house in Benton it was steadily raining.

By the time I got to Paron on AR Highway 9, there was a good bit of snow mixed in with the rain, eventually changing over to 100% snow. The flakes were more like big wet clumps. Of course 99% of the snow you see in this shot is a result of last week’s snowfall.

I drove from highway 9 to the first intersection and turned around as it was getting close to dark and the road was getting a bit messy. The area looked like a winter wonderland. I would loved to have been there when all this was fresh.

It’s been a pretty winter, but I am ready for spring at this point.

What a wonderful drive in all seasons. The image is very inviting. Makes me want to head out there right now. Great capture. Thanks for sharing! I bet Flatside Pinnacle looks awesome right now.

I bet most of the stuff in the trees was fresh. Crazy, I didn't see a single snowflake here.

Pretty scene Clayton... indeed a winter wonderland. The snow in the trees really makes this. The receding lines of the road lead the eye into the photo, and you gotta love that little S in the distance. Thanks for sharing.

Looks toasty warm

This has been some winter for snow. We have seen more snow in Texas this winter than I can ever recall and we had our all time record for a single day snowfall bested last week by over 25% (7" to about 10")
