Blackfalls Iceland (Svartifoss)
A shot from Svartifoss in Iceland I posted into ESS a while back. I find the volcanic rocks interesting and I wanted to get the waterfalling over the tops of a pleasing geometric composition. I did take several shutter speed setups on the water for varying effect and was pleased with the final resulting image. I have seen many shots from this location but feel the closeup view of the bottom is very nice. This looks pretty nice in B&W too.

Certainly has impact and drama Ian. At first glance I wondered if you used any 'fractal' software, did you?

You can get the info in DPP Ian, file info when you open the image. Nice one.

I like this a lot and agree about the geometric shapes and composition. Very well processed too.

Works for me, you can almost feel the water drops.

Lovely photo from a lovely place. I have been twice and it is a landscape photographers dream.
The composition is particularly spot on in my eyes but I would be tempted to get rid of the black band running horizontally from the bottom left.

This is lovely Ian. Great juxtaposition of stark angles and soft curving flows of water. Exposure is right on too, and the lighting is ideal. Well spotted and well taken.

Superb! Lovely texture and pattern in the water, and contrasting with the angular rocks. Great composition and very atmospheric. :toast:

Awesome, beautiful geometry and stark rawness of the falls and landscape of the area.
