Usually just one but twins are not unheard of,they can give birth at any time of the year ,this one dropped at the weekend and I'm trying to photograph it at the moment so watch this space!

Hi Craig, well captured and a nice story.

ok, thanks. A bit like roe deer but all year around.
I like the contrast between the detailed male and the oof female. Quite often the second animal detracts from the overall image but I think it has worked well here.

Lovely shot, great viewpoint. Nice to have them out in the open too. They look nice and relaxed, and it works well with having them both in the frame. Well taken.

Hi Craig
Lovely image of a difficult species. To answer Andrew's question 'Was he just around or was he feeling lucky?' Probably the latter as with Muntjac the doe comes into season as soon as she gives birth so the females are pregnant nearly all of the time!

Like this Craig. Nice angle and the second animal tells a story.
I am sure you must have got a bit of a buzz having been presented with the two of them.
Major.

A nice shot - the low PoV works well here. I preferred your previous image of this species but that is nothing other than personal taste. Congrats.
Nice shot Craig. I suppose that you have done this from a Hide, Hard work isn`t it. Did you bait them with something? It look like there is something on the ground? Carrots, sugarbeet?
Best wishes and Bonne continuation

I can't remember seeing any really good shots of these before. This is brilliant imo. They're a bit ungainly but definitely under-rated subjects. Not easy to photograph at all. eric
