Lapwing + Repost
Another shot from my visit to Elmley last Saturday. I have always had a soft spot for lapwings, but here it is the background that I like, it looks like a river running through two hills but in fact it is no more than an outlet of a fairly small pond.

Nice environmental shot David and is typical of how we tend to see them. I do find that my eye is drawn tot he area of sky at the top left and therefore I would suggest cropping just below it..

Love those colours in the shoulder area.

Thanks for the comments, folks. I have just looked at this on my works computer and am horrified by the lack of vibrancy. On the original the colours, and detail, are rich. I usually blame compression on uploading for this, but has anybody any other explanation?

Hi David

Nice one - well composed although maybe a tiny bit more room behind the tail!

Nice shot but think it is a bit tight by the tail,it does look a bit flat to me though and maybe a bit more of a sharpen

David I take it you are converting to srgb before posting?
As mentioned a little more room to the left otherwise looks ok to me.

A lovely shot, I like it very much, and lapwings are beautiful waders. Perhaps you could sharpen a tad more. :toast:

Thanks folks. I have taken the advice on board. This second version is cropped a little tighter to show the detail better, and I have tried to follow all the advice. Hopefully this one will look a little better.
