Redshank (Tringa totanus)
Hi all,

This was taken a while ago in Yorkshire.

I find that sometimes you look upon an image differently if you enjoyed taking it.

This was taken on a lovely morning with excellent light and as a result I think I probably like it more than the image its self merits.

Thanks,

Lovely image, I like how the seaweed draws your eye to the bird.

Only crit would be the lack of catchlight.

I know exactly what you mean about our memories and associations 'improving' our own images. To me this seems a nicely composed shot with nice lighting making the redshank seem to glow. What I like less is the rather lurid seeming greens in the foreground and I wonder if they'd look better toned down a bit.

I think this is a nice image and I like the lighting but would reduce the size of your copyright notice somewhat. It rather overpowers the picture.

A beautifully lit picture Rob. Really well composed and a nice smooth background which isolates the bird well. A catchlight would have been a plus but with the lighting direction you had that was unlikely. However, as the eye has a pale ring around it I dont find the lack of catchlight to be too much of a distraction. I'd be more than pleased to have taken this.

A really atmospheric image. Excellent.
