Barn Owl on a stick
One from Norfolk a couple of weeks ago. A tad tight but not complaining...just wishing Canon could add an on/off switch on their TCs

1D2N, 500/4, 1.4x, car @ 1/1000, f5.6, ISO400, 0mph. Full frame.

Not sure if Owls qualify for BOAS?

I like the pose, plus looking down the barrel, but as you say Mark, it's a tad tight, but... Overall it looks a little 'flat' especially in the whites and a little yellow cast which should be easy to correct. Perhaps a tad more in curves & levels may help just to give it a little more punch, or 'pop' factor? Always nice to see Barn Owls.

I have that trouble with TCs as well. I am sure birds can tell when you have put one on, and come closer just to wind us up. I'd be quite happy to have the problem though for a chance like this one.

Its a great problem to have, Owls that come too close. I used to have the same problem until I got the Nikon 200-400 zoom, now the birds don't come that close!!

Lovely shot nits covered.

Lovely shot, Mark. Yes, it looks a tad tight, probably made more noticeable by the "spare" space above and below the bird. Have you tried a small crop top and bottom to balance it out? Cliff

Nice work, Mark, it's very engaging because the eye contact is so effective :toast:

Size in farme not an issue for me, a good pose that makes for a fine image; only nits being that it looks too light and has a slight yellow cast.
