Barn Owl hunting at Dusk
This is another take on the Barn Owls, I am going back next week to give them another crack, I loved the wing position of this one.

Canon 1d MK11, 500m lens, 1.4x, F4, iso 200

I have finally got my new website up and running and it would be great to get some feed back from the guys on here and to see if everything is working. It is all my own handy work and I am proud of it and I can now update it when I want, I have also started a blog as well. Feed back much appreciated.

Cheers

Great shot. Again your hard work has been paying off. Love it.

Website looks great and I love the blog. Can't believe you did most of the work yourself. I know you can push a camera button but this..........

Looked at this a couple of times. Better than anything I have on wide Barn Owl ( but I can't get to Norfolk ! ) but that's not the point.
Sorry but it doesn't really work for me.
It's almost as if you had the wrong lens on.
Not your usual standard - but then, when it's so high it's hard to keep up

Danny, Have to agree with John that this is not up to your usual high standards, certainly compared to the other lovely BO images on your website/blog, although it is a well-composed/executed shot and, as you say, the wing positions are appealing - maybe the small size does not do it justice? I can imagine that it would look a lot better as a large print.
Love the simple clean lines of the website, gallery pictures fantastic and content interesting & informative. My only negative comment is that the combination of the small font and white letters on grey background make it difficult for me to read (Mac with Safari).

Hi Danny,

I like this, shows a good amount of habitat, gives a good sense of scale and the position of the Owl is perfect, including the "Angel" wings  I know when we last spoke, you said you after something like this, so your hard work and determination are paying off mate, well done !!

Had a good nose round your website too  very nicely designed, easy to navigate and stunning images

Regards

Rob

Works for me needs to be four foot long on the wall!!
Website is superb, one of the best I've seen, text is a litttle difficult to read but its the images that make it great!!
Would be tempted to swap the puffin and red kite shots around on your favourite image page.

Hi Danny,

Great shot. I wonder if the image might work abit better if the bird was a little bigger in the frame, but that is a personal thing I guess. I'm in the process of redesigning my site also, so understand the pains that these things intail.

Cheers Guys for your input much appreciated, I always think it is best to get input from photographers especially the people on here.

Liam I have commisioned a graphic designer to design me a logo but its not ready yet should be on early march.

I am glad that it navigates easy because that was my biggest concern because that is my own bug bear with websites. I will be updating the blog and I am hopefuly going to be inviting people to post some of there own images from a project that they have been working on, just a thought?

Regarding this image John I agree at this small size but it does look alot better bigger, one of those shots that either works or not, I will be working on this site for the next couple of months and really I have the shot in mind just not got it yet..

Cheers

Seems to be that you're still suffering from a chronic inability to realise what are your best images. This one, in my own opinion, is substantially better than your previous post, which was ok. Wing position, light, composition, processing, behaviour etc are all much closer to the DG standard. As usual though, judging from your blog, you've an even better one on there, numpty!!

Hi Danny,

like the website - nice clean lines and simple to navigate. One suggestion I have is that it might be good to add an RSS feed for your blog ? Or am I the only person geeky enough to be using RSS?

All the best,
Rob

Really like the light and the composition  :wavey:

When attempting this sort of image the size restriction on here does it no justice.
At this size though I dont feel that it works to well and for me I would always prefer the bird to be somewhat bigger.
Judging from the comment there will always be for and against.

Major.

Hi Danny

I really like the overall lighting in this image and I am sure viewed as a large print would look fine but lacks a little at this size!

Fantastic. Think its one of those images that doesn't suit the web but suits a large print.

Would look great on Canvas.
