I've got CS 4 and as with all the other versions I've always felt a need for a simple "Save and Close" in one action, rather than making it a two step process. It seems trivial, but do thie ten thousand times or more, and it adds up. I see the command under batch command, but in most situations, I just need to have it under file. ANybody know that this already exists, or should it be a suggestion to Adobe?
Another nice feature to have would be to open multiple files into PhotoShop as viewed from their folders. You can do multiples by searching with PhotoShop, but if you are already in a Windows (anyway) folder, you can select all you want, but to "Open with PhotoShop" will only open one file to work on.Unless anyone knows differently?

You can simply close the file. If it changed since it was last saved, you will be prompted to save it.

Thanks. Yes, of course. If there are changes, then to save and close only takes a few extra seconds per image. For several thousand images however, making the save and close a single command, versus a prompted two step process, could save some decent time in a long project. I've done that for actions and in batch commands already, but it would be nice to have that option under "File" also, imo.

You can open multiple files from Bridge, although I've only ever done this from the same (single) folder.
Guy's suggestion to create an action is excellent. That way you wouldn't do 'Save and Close' inadvertantly. I'm glad that option is not in the Fioe menu in PS. I work on pretty large files (500MB and up), so an accidental 'Save and Close' would be very annoying.

Oh yes, I have the action command for that as I mentioned too, but the key is the 'Function Key" , as Guy adds. Great, that will work and is just what I was fishing for! I can see why save and close might be a nuisance at times, kind of like the "Delete All' on the earlier Canon digitals. MM
