Photo of a male Barn Owl from the site I have spent the last two month at and loved my time with this beautiful male,he seems to be staying at this site so a long and enjoyable project is hopefully planned where I hope to capture him during this time. He's captured here having caught his prey, in the process picking up long grass which can be seen in this image. The sun was almost set and I love the shape of the wings which are backlit by the setting sun

A really beautiful composition Craig, the background colour is fabulous, as is the detail. Brilliant!
Great wing position, equally so the composition and the trails of grass add that extra something. And different in style to your previous barnies, good stuff.

As a botonist I love the grass and the owl is not bad as well. Excellent capture. Well done Craig.
Hi it doesn't really work for me I don't find the composition particularly pleasing, I can also see quite sharp graduating circles in the background and what looks like a bright spot around the owl, the actual content of the image isn't particularly strong with the owl being so small in the frame.
It would probably have been better taken and a dx body that way giving you more detail and the owl would have been bigger in the frame making the back lighting on the wings more of a feature.
Phil.
