Blackbird in the snow
Another from my sessions with these birds in the snow. I have tended to overlook common birds in the past and have few good images so this winter I set myself a target to increase my coverage of the common garden birds. taken from a lie down hide, 1Dmk111 500

Hi Paul
If I lie down these days I don't get up.!
Good exposure on this one. Like in the old days- black cat in a coalhouse !

Just lately I've done enough lying down in the snow to last me a lifetime Paul

Shot works very well for me too, though perhaps a tiny bit more room on the right might have been good.

Nice one Paul - very underrated subject photographed in a different style for sure.. :wavey:

Hi Paul

I spent some time myself yesterday doing these in similar circumstances, nice portrait and I like the wing position. The blown snow is a tiny distraction for me though exposing correctly for the blackbird there is little else you could have done

Cheers

Great stuff, a very different pose and the low angle gives a nice effect :toast:

great pose and setting, low angle and snow on the beak both really add to the image too
