Riverbend is just gorgeous! That blue at the bottom seals the deal! You are really making me rethink my fall plans. I've been there a few times in the spring but I need to finally do the fall thing with the rest of the photos from around the world.
Excellent series, Mel. 4 & 5 really stand out. It appears that 1 & 3 could use a polarizer?

Nice shots Mel. I really like #4 and #5. Were you up on a big boulder for #4 or did you scramble up the canyon wall? Either way, I think the elevated perspective is refreshingly different.

Thanks Dave.
I was trying to capture the reflected light in #1 to bring out more of the texture of the water flowing across the rock and catch some the reflected color, but a CPL is certainly a valid way to interpret the scene.
Both of those were shot with my little LX3 and its kind of a pain to put on the filter adapter, which then makes it less convenient to carry. I had my LF camera on my back and carry the LX3 in a pouch on the shoulder harness for grab shots on the trail when I take the 4X5.
John, #4 was shot on top of a big boulder hanging over the river. Its on the paved rivewalk trail where it climbs up high before entering core of the narrows.

All have the "Ladewig" look. 4 and 5 rise above the first 3, which are still fine shots. Riverbend is just a remarkable shot.

I love that first one, esp. the sheen on the wet rock, and those last two are just stellar!

Another great set, Mel. I especially like the warm to cool gradient in #5.

All excellent shots, with #1 and #4 as my favorites although I think a polarizer would have helped to cut the glare and bring out more texture in #1. I hope someday I can visit this amazing place.

Very nice stuff here. To me as well #1 and 5 stand out the most.

Nice collection Mel. I agree the first one is amazing.

Nice work, Mel. I love the perspective in #4, but #5 is my favorite. I know you said the first couple were taken with the LX3. How about the others? Are they LF?

A beautiful series!
I like 'em all, but 'Riverbend' is particularly good.
Great response in the 'Arizona Parks...' thread, by the way.

Nice image of River Bend! The yellow and navy blue contrast well.

Start off with some crack and end it in a cool shady tranquil canyon. Nice series Mel, the crack has some good luminace, the reds are very bright and I like that. The second is my favorite, it has a nice mixture of color.

Narrows Kaleidoscope is very nice! Everybody seems to have "Crack" problem when they go there, myself included.

You said everyone photographs the crack. I haven't seen it, where in the park is it?
