A winter shot from Norway, shooting with Danny, Mark, Tony, Phil & Julian. It hadn't snowed properly all week although there was a reasonable amount of snow around. Ole had baited the eagle hide on the coast with Elk but some visits had yielded no birds. It was reasonably cold although warmer than the beginning of the week when we arrived at -24 without windchill. My 1DM2 had been suffering from low shutter speeds all week so I had swapped across onto my new shiny 5D2, where MLU wasnt required. Although the image isn't razor I was reasonably happy with the result. C&C welcome.

Brilliant image, that background is perfect for the bird. I really like the pose captured.

Well done sir capturing the bird at full stretch .It appears sharp where essential and for me thats what matters . Great BG,lovin the beak .
My paltry effort from this site was a couple of hooded crows on a stick .9 hours and two corvids
Oh how I miss that -20 plus and the smell of napalm in the mornings.

Hi Ian, nice capture.

The island hide didn't deliver for us and it can be a bit "up and down" so you were lucky Ian
I do like the pose and BG in this - my only niggle would be that the wing is slightly tight but that's no biggy.
Interesting - Andy feels its too tight on the wing - I disagree totally! I think its a superb composition that really gives dramatic emphasis to the bird - there are strong diagonals going on here which set this shot apart from numerous others. Of course neither of us is 'right' in our opinion, and thats the great thing about photography. Lovely creative image Ian, well done.
