how does one repost an image into a forum before the alloted 48hr posting restriction?

Log in. Then go back to the original image of yours and "reply"
to yourself with a comment, indicating that your reposting,
mentioning the changes that you've made. Then go to "Browse"
and bring up your revised image. Finally click on the box that
says, "Reply to this Topic". I think that will bring up the revised
image plus your "reply" comment. I hope that this helps. If it
doesn't, I'm sure that someone else in the Forum will assist you
