Take cover...
The first godwits have arrived in Holland so spring is on it's way. In Scotland it's still winter with lots of snow. What do I prefer? Not sure. Really want to do some more ptarmigan or mountain hare but can't wait to hear the sound of hundreds of godwits.

In the meantime I'm posting some more of my recent trip to Scotland.

Hi Ed

Cracking image here Ed as it really reveals the sort of conditions that the ptarmigan, and CDB photographers have to endure in Scottish winters. You've done really well to not only get the ptarmigan but also to show the blowing snow against a dark background which transforms it from a decent, to a very strong image. Good stuff Edster!

I agree with Andrew, the snow really makes this image.

Really looking forward to your godwit images this year.

Agree with above comments. Cracking image, my only minor nit would be the snow line background running across the birds head.
