Hello friends, for some weeks I observed a single Cormorant around the river near Innsbruck. A few days ago I saw him sitting on a stone in the river. When I came closer he jumped in the water and startet fishing. I thought I have a good chance he will return and open his wings to dry his feathers. About half an hour later I was lucky.

Bertl I love the irridescence on its wings. If only its head was turned slightly more towards you.

Missed this earlier .
Great wing drying shot and good detail in the wings which is not always that easy on these birds.

I like this Bertl quite a lot and I'm always impressed with the amount of colour in those feathers and how they look almost 'scale' like. Nicely captured.
What I like about this Bertl, is how the light catches on the plumage of the bird, showing great details where normally will be difficult on a dark bird like this one. Very interesting pose too.

Great shot Bertl and well planned. Far better than any cormorant shot I've managed. really nice feather detail.
