Roll on spring
Its nearly March, the clocks will change and hopefully we will have some new photo opportunities!
This Cuckoo visited the same caterpillar covered bush for 3 or 4 days back in 2007. Great birds to watch and many cards used up!

Nikon D2x
Nikon 300 f2.8 +1.7tc
320th sec
f7.1 -1/3rd
200 iso
Image = approx 80% of frame

Great image, I have never got remotely close to a Cuckoo. I like how the face is sharp as it draws your eyes in.

A lovely shot, not many get as close to these birds as this!

This is the best shot of its kind I've seen for a very long time. I'm hoping that the mixture of blur and sharpness was deliberate. The sharpness of the area around the eye does draw you to it. I also love the colours and the detail. I think its gonna be a marmite shot as some wont like it, but I do. Very well done. :toast:

Works for me, a shame the top of the near wing isn't in the frame, but I would be more than happy to have taken this.

A very nice capture Tony. I have never got remotely close to one. I like the sharpness of the bird with blurred wing detail. Works for me.
