The end of the day
In an effort to shorten a severe winter we headed south to New Mexico the bad weather followed even in Bosque del Apache, when it comes to it not that different from Eastbourne. Although the mexican food is better. The light was almost nil as the sandhill cranes returned to roost.

This pair seemed in the mood.

Canon 1D3 canon 800mm tripod. ISO800 f/5.6 1/100sec.

Comments Advice Critique most welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Brilliant image, lots of impact. I would maybe crop a slice off the top and a sharpen.

Good timing and well seen,
I would set the birds a bit lower in the frame.
Just a personal taste.

I like the atmosphere here. I think I would put them smack in the centre of the frame, but we all seem to have slightly different takes on this.

Strong graphic silhouette Barry. I too would take some off bottom and then place the birds in the centre.

Lovely atmospheric shot Barry,

I too would move them central and also remove the birds in the background :toast:

Thank you all for looking and taking the time to comment I'll make the changes as suggested.

I think this may be an exception to the off centre rule in order to balance the photograph.
