Vine Weevil..
..Otiorhynchus sulcatus, Taken last year year and reworked in PictureWindowPro 5 which I have just purchased.
Again best viewed about 3 feet from your monitor(s) IMO.
I left the TLHC overexposed as I liked the effect, some others might not.

Sigma SD14
Sigma 50mm Ex DG Macro Lens
Sigma Ring flash
Hand Held

I am afraid I don't like the top left corner either, but the weevil itself is fabulous.

Nice detail of a horrid little creature - like John, they've wreaked havoc in my greenhouse and pot plants

The bright spot does draw the eye a little, but great detail of a creature I actually find quite attractive! (I don't keep many plants though) :toast:

Agree a great detailed image but again would agree that you should lose the light spot top left. You seem to be on the up and up with your beasties
