Red deer small in the frame
Not sure about this one myself. I've looked at it for quite some time but not sure if this works. So very curious what you guys think of it.

iso 200 1/200 sec. f/4 full frame

Works for me Edwin.

Maybe a tad from the top to make for more of a pano crop ? Certainly displays the environment very well.

Cheers, Graham :wavey:

Brilliant image, but for me there is to much mush on the right hand side. I would give it a closer crop, from the top and right hand side.

The eye contact is great.

Works for me as well, I agree with Graham on the pano-crop, I think it would make for a stronger image.

For me a better placement woudl have been upper RH third not lower LH third - heres why - my eyes keep wandering up the hill from the deer and as a result get distracted by the pale rocks and dark foreground lump. Had the deer been positioned up the hill I think my eyes would have gravitated that way to the subject rather than away from it. I also find the the rear snow line also acts as a leading lime away from the subject off up the hill at present.

the deer itself is just too small and dark in the overall scene to hold my attention at present

I think it works very well Edwin, just needs a little more light on the Deer. Nice image!

Paul. :wavey:

Have to agree with the above comments re: a pano format, but on the other hand, that is how you saw the image...... very nice.

Doesn't quite work for me Edwin. I find my eye wandering too much over the whole image.

Hi Ed, I like this but what puts me off is the hill that the deer is on has no snow. If it had snow INMO it would be very good. :toast:

I'd try a 4x5 crop to place more emphasis on the deer and perhaps give it a touch more fill light. The eye does tend to wander with this crop to less interesting areas :wavey:
