Heron behavioural image
This heron had caught and eaten a large eel. It then proceeded to use this stone to clean the slime from its beak, wiping first one side and then the other and then repeating the process until it decided it was clean enough. Compositionally this is cropped from the centre of a horizontal image so plenty of space right and left(nothing at bottom). However, I couldn't help but feel that the only possible crop was tight and central as the bird is really just looking straight down so to my eye no benefit in having any extra space either side.
Any different ideas?

Works for me Robert, I like it, they are difficult birds to get right, but you've done a fine job!

An excellent behavioural image and good explanation to go with it.

Speaking as an ex fisherman, that heron obviously has the right idea - eel slime is amazingly difficult to get off! Great pic of this behaviour.
