Wrong position, wrong light., right place.
Do you know the feeling seems to be semi-permanent state I'm in no problem finding subjects but position is all wrong. I now shoot anyway and hope for a stroke of luck to kick in. I know I'd be a nightmare as a student.

Last sunday a tour of Quivera and Cheyenne Bottoms in Kansas local information suggested over 600,000 birds. With a great deal of water still frozen. -12 plus wind chill.

We saw a total of nineteen Bald Eagles at one location although spread along the ice/water line picking off injured ducks for a take away.

Then action and a confrontation they were all airbourne sun in front of us albeit behind cloud, high reflection off the water for me too good to miss. Some distance away just to add another factor.

Just dosen't happen at Beachy Head so here it is one of 150 shots.

How should I deal with such an opportunity?

Canon 1D3 800mm f/5.6 ISO 200 1/2000 sec RAW to lightroom PS4 resized to post. Shooting from the car.

Critique, Comments Advice most welcome.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Barry, I've just had a quick play with ur image. I did a Levels adjustment, White Point slider to 159, Mid Point to 1.08. Then on Output white Point slider to 204. I then applied a little USM on a separate layer and used the Eraser tool on the BG. I'm no expert though!

Great action Barry and Paul has brought out some more detail. What you really needed was to be in a canoe on the far side of those birds...

Sorry, no sensible suggestions here. Hard to get round this one.

Thanks Paul & Tim

All suggestions are helpful although I'll take a rain-check on the canoe me thinks.

Great behaviour - pity about the lighting!
