Avocet
One from early yesterday morning, the weather forecast, forecast bright sunlight but very misty first thing so I made sure I was in place for 7:30am and just had to wait for the sun the fog and the birds to come together.

Phil.

Just doesnt work for me im sorry, the bird with its head missing doesnt look right and the blead on the wing and background look funny on my screen.

Composition just works on this - the blacks are all where they need to be and it all just 'fits'. Very nice mood and colour.

Works for me too, like the colours and I dont see too many avocet flight shots so something I'd be very pleased with.

Smashing shot. Well anticipated and executed. Great colours and it's a lovely elegant bird to catch in flight.

Phil, another one I keep coming back to. My immediate reaction was a beautifully composed shot showing the graceful lines of these birds in flight. The more I study it I see what Andy is saying but does not spoil the overall effect. :toast:

Lovely soft lighting and a great background - perhaps a little more separation between birds for prefection. :toast: :toast:

Hi Phil,
That pastel coloured sky is very nice indeed and works great as a backdrop for this species.
It's a real shame there isn't a little seperation between the birds, but easier said than done.
