Hi everyone. A while ago I was fortunate to have the chance to photograph a Tawny Eagle. I've liked this shot, (particularly the outstreched wings as the bird found a thermal) for a while, but the sky was bland to say the least, as the light was bright and harsh. I've had a play around with the 'lighting effects' in CS3, and came up with this. I'd be intersested to know if you think it works? All comments most welcome.

hi paul
fab shot, i always like birds i flight shots, works well for me
(c) is this a accessible site for all as i think member photographers would like the chance as you, to get a crack of these great birds
Hi Jeff. Yes this shot was taken at The International Bird Of Prey Centre in Newent Gloucester. Hope this helps, thanks for you're comments!
Regards,
Paul.
Love the bird, love the lighting on it and feather detail, but the dark top left corner of sky is way too discordant for me I'm afraid. If it was lightened to be the same as the lower left it would look much more natural.
I think the whole background needs to be much lighter than the bird and the dark spot just gets too close to the tones of the bird and as a consequence it loses the 'free' feel the bird should have in all the empty space its occupying.
The dark spot makes it a wee too claustrophobic, particularly as the bird is heading right into it. Purely personal, but hope it helps!

Agree with John's comment's but as stated the soft lighting on the bird has given superb feather detail!
