Yesterday, I spotted a patch of California poppies about 20 miles north of downtown Tucson on Oracle Road. Heading to Mesa today; will be on lookout for more.

Thanks Bill. Since things are getting started in the southern part of the RMNP region, Maybe it's time for a wildflower sticky thread mods?

Good stuff Bill. I'm headed to Phoenix the 19th. Hope things are good out around Lost Dutchman then.

On drive to Mesa today, there were small patches of Lupines and Poppies along the road near Florence. Cactus blooms should be plentiful as they have had plenty to drink.

Check out DesertUSA for daily wildflower reports from the field in the Phoenix, Tucson and beyond areas.

I was doing some Canyoneering out near Tortilla Flat Saturday - the ground is covered in Lupine, everywhere. Beware that everything is muddy and wet.. *all* canyons are flowing heavily. We're currently in the midst of 3 days (and counting) of heavy rain (again).
