Wader Roost
After seeing the mixed reactions to Danny's post recently, I thought I'd post this one for comment/crit.

Taken in November last year, I've been toying with the sequence ever since. I shot a few with the ship in focus and a few, as here, with the birds. I think I prefer the birds in focus, but would be interested in others thoughts. As with any shot like this though, the scale of what takes place at the roost just cannot be conveyed on screen.

I like this as well. Great setting and execution. I am sure it looks even better larger.

Very nice indeed. Possibly some vignetting in the top corners that might look better a bit lightened up. All in all a great picture and I'd love to see it large.

I like it. Love the panoramic format and the ship and setting sun create a good visual balance.

Works for me - but too small to be appreciated fully!

Hello Graham

Doesn't work at this size

But I will use my imagination and say it is a great shot.

Very cool shot, the sun is amazing. I swear the sun down here is smaller than that

OK Graham, I have looked at this several times before commenting, as this is a real departure from your normal posting. Great and well done for trying something different!

Yes, the 'pano' crop works well, but I feel that there should be more sky in relation to the water, although it probably is 1/3-2/3 ratio. Personally I find the 'sea' too dark and therefore some of the birds disappear into the foreground, which if I remember correctly, wasn't the case, perhaps just lighten a tad

Congrats on trying something new. :toast: :toast: :toast:

An appealing shot

It works for me, but needs to bigger to get the full impact, the ship adds greatly to the composition too! well seen and presented.
