A Place Of Work-Kingkisher
I have tried to show the habitat in which this Kingkisher was fishing in here with this image, his 'place of work'.The colours lit up the place,he just allowed a few images before he was gone.

This works well Craig, I like it! The only small nit is the light blob in the water on the left of the image. Saying that; it is a really nice and different image.

Thought of cloning it out Rene, but then it gets away from how it was on the day, managed to just catch him leaving the water with this poor shot but you have to try!!! :wavey:

Prefer the first one. Perhaps a different crop- even upright or long pano.

I also prefer the first one. Agree with John about a different crop.

It's good to see the wider picture here with a good glimpse of the Kingfisher's surroundings.

I agree with the above Craig, it's nice to see some environment. Nicely taken.

Nice focus on the bird, showing how colourful it is. My personal preference would be to see the bird's surroundings in focus as well, as those pebbles would look great IMO.

Hello Craig

This is a nice try but doesn't quite work for me because of the background which is a little messy. If you can get closer and use a smaller lens and look down the stream then it would be a nice kingfisher in its habitat, sorry just trying to help.

Always nice to see these birds. Can be tough to get into a decent position for them though. Like the colours though Craig.

Great shot Craig, nice to see something completely different to the normal full frame images. Will we be seeing more??

Thank you for your kind/helpful comments, this image was a few I'd just started to get from a new local site I had found recently,I had put different perches in,built a hide all with the help of a BTO friend with a 'Schedule 1, where they were feeding, things where looking good for my first real, decent Kingkishers images,as lasts years few at another site did'nt work out to good.Over the last week after some fishermen&kids seeing my perches etc they have gone, and the Kingfishers have left due to disturbence,I have returned, asked about, knowone saw anything etc, Danny thanks for your good advice, but I would have loved to get close images as this was planned before this :frown: :frown: :frown: so I have to look for another site and maybe 3rd time lucky Here is a cropped image as some have asked for,and it works really well thanks :wavey:

Great to see this in context Craig :toast:

On the second crop I find the bright branches draw the eye a little.

Stunning colours stand out very well :toast:
