Quick lick and a promise
A quick lick and a promise is what my mum used to call it, but in the case of this hare, quick it certainly was not. I spent about an hour with it last Saturday afternoon, and what time it was not asleep it spent grooming.

I have cropped this a bit tighter than the original (about 50%), as I know that some will not like the surrounding grass. I haven't got one in the open yet, guess I'll just have to keep going back.

A nice image David and I don t mind the surrounding grass in this one there is nothing that draws my attention away from the hare

Good natural behaviour shot David. I'd love to get this sort of opportunity - grass or not!

Cheers,
Chris

Hi David, he does look sorry for himself, doesn't he

At 1/350 it might be a tad slow for the 600, but I might try a tad more selective USM only on the head only. Also if there is room above, perhaps a tad off the bottom and add it to the top? :wavey:

Hi David

Lovely image - you have captured a great pose and the setting is fine. I would be tempted for composition to take a little off the bottom!

They're being a bit distant with me too lately ,so well done on getting close .

A really nice close-up portrait. I would be very happy with something like this. I haven't heard the expression lick and a promise for many years but he actually looks more like he is holding his head in despair. :wavey:
