The massive carpets of poppies and some lupins plus little white flowers are in bloom at Knights Ferry just off of Hwy 120/108 east of Oakdale. Sunday was a perfect day to enjoy the spring colors. A bonus is the 330 ft Knights Ferry covered bridge, the longest in the State, constructed in 1864 (restored in 1989).
Great shot Dan,
Thanks for the info. Love that area!!!

I was at Knight's Ferry this morning. A lady at the visitor's center told me that
the flowers would not peak unit the weather got warmer and there was more
sunshine. On the weekend of the March 20-21 there will be a Civil War
Re-enactment there.
Just wondering if anyone has headed down crabtree road or followed the sonora road that heads out to hwy 4 recently. Or the road down to 2mile bar...south side of tulloch?
Well done image, it's nice to see things starting to pop. It's starting down here on the bottom end of the state but it's spotty at best. I just feel there gonna be and explosion of color soon.

I was out Sonora Road from Knights Ferry to Eugene - not quite to Hwy 4 - on a bike ride today and there were NO flowers along the route.

As of yesterday the poppies at Knights Ferry looked full blown - lupin on the other hand have a way to go before they peak.
