I believe this is my first landscape and film posting. This was taken on a gravel pit just outside Newbury, the same one as my Grebe postings last year.
It was taken with one of the many films John MacPherson kindly gave me April last year, I still have loads of it left so need to get out there shooting it!

Hi Liam. Lovely colors but I really miss a focus point. Everything seems to be out of focus.

Mamiya slr was my first camera! Earned by picking tomatoes! I know this is 6x6.....very nice but I agree with edwin that it misses a focalpoint!

Ahh I love the smell of E6 in the morning......

I'm not too bothered by a lack of a focus point, the soft feel to image compliments the colours.

Thanks for the comments, I see what you mean about lack of focal point but look at the sky! I wish I could get that with digital

The low angle works well and is a little different. I like the soft focus effect too, it suits the tranquility and pastel colours of the scene very well.

Love it and the tranquil pastel tones throughout. Like the soft effect overall on the shot. The oof grasses on the front right would be better removed IMO.

As the responsible adult I should comment I suppose!

Love the colour and pastel tones. love the grass calligraphy at bottom - the leaning-in from both sides, and the wee patterns made with the reflections, the oof horizon, and the 'balance' between the dark right block of horizon and more complex left side of the reed patterns, but that oof bit of grass needs the scorched earth policy applied. It really detracts from whats an otherwise excellent image.

Nice use of some ancient Fuji! Got some more if any of you want any?

Thanks for the comments.

Responsible?

The oof grass is really annoying, I swear it wasn't there when I was looking down through the viewfinder. Its also almost impossible to get rid of, as I have tried

Beautiful colours and tones, very nice atmosphere. I do find the diagonal orientated blade of grass on the right a little distracting but still this is a beautiful image. Good to see there are other people out there still using film. Look forward to seeing more. Tristan

As tristan says the RHS diagonal reed is a bit counter in the composition and whilst I like the muted tomes of the sky I feel a crop from the top could aid composition
