Unwanted passengers..
..on this Wool Carder Bee. The first time I've seen mites on this species in my garden. Wool carder bees were few and far between last year, I hope this winter has not eradicated them altogether from my garden, for this year.

The insect world can be a cruel and gruesome one. A good portrayal but I wonder if it might have been better taller and thinne rif you know what I mean?

I thinks this works well. I like the way the flower is slightly slanted and I think the background works better too for having a bit of detail showing, as opposed to a totally black one.

I like it...although Im going to go the other way and say that I would have prefered it more with a black background. Purple and Black together ... I think is a nice combination.

nicely taken David. There were lots of Red Mason Bees in my garden last year that were covered in mites like this. I've never had the chance to photograph a Wool Carder Bee.

David I like the composition here. Think it works well. Lovely detail too.

If JR would keep his mind off his Tits he might be able to concentrate on pressing the right buttons - which he seems to be having more and more trouble with recently
