Fig leaf?
Unfortunately this was just too close and this pic is full frame. It still has some interest/amusement value for me and it's definitely my best Jay in flight to date - you should see the others LOL.

7D, 500mm
f7.1, ISO 400, 1/200th

Prefocussed just behind feeding log and hit the 'motor drive' and hope when the jay's on its way in.

Thanks for looking.

Great stuff . What a pity it's so tight.
Has impact though.

hi tim

great shot, but echo other post - just a bit tight in the frame, however a pic (even tight) is better than none - well done

I think it's much better for being this tight, different.

The tighness in the frame makes the image IMO, emphasising the leaf. Excellent.

Good sharpness, detail and impact.

Different and sharp...considering all the complaints I have been hearing about the 7D. If it were mine (subjective) I may crop a little more off the top.

Thanks for your comments. I may play around a little with cropping the image.

Hi Tim, just imagine that you got the whole bird in. It would have been a fantastic shot. I still like it as is. :toast:
