Predictable Gigrin Red Kite shot + Pic added
Oh no I hear you groan

Oh yes I say I spent my £10 and I am going to get my monies worth

I like this shot for the look on the Buzzards face

I'll be off there in August. Any tips? What are the relative merits of the various hides - and what would you reasonably expect to get without entering any of them (i.e. just the basic 'entrance fee')? Nice shot - worth it for the non-plussed buzzard.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy,

the first tip is get good light, it was flat as a witches you know what last Saturday. We went in the GateWay hide which in on the ground, not too sure how it compares to the tower hides as its the first time I have been. Maybe some of the others will be able to advise you which is the best one to go for.
I was quite happy with the hide it there was plenty of room to move about and plenty to see it was just the light and lack of sun blue sky that resulted in drab looking pictures.

I do have plenty of Red kite shots and will be back in the summer.

Thanks for the pointers - I'll be there in the first week of August, so I may see you there!

A comical moment very well captured. Worth the cost of a few pints of G******s IMO.

Doesn't really work for me Ian but then I'm not really getting the full impact of the buzzard as I'm viewing on a really poor works monitor.

Have done a bigger crop so the Buzzards face is seen better

That's even better. Worth a couple of pints more.

Not a Predictable shot at all Ian, a nice bit of action really, you never can tell whats gonna happen at Gigrin. Not even the weather mate

Paul. :wavey:

the second image works better (at this small size). A nice bit of Gigrin action.,

Prefer the second crop Ian, cracking wing position on the kite.

Hi Ian, I am afraid this does not work for me it is a bit to busy. :toast:

Certainly does a good job of illustrating the feeding frenzy that takes place at Gigrin.

I prefer the crop as well. The expression on the Buzzard's face is great. Hardly a predictable Gigrin shot and a good choice I think given the lighting we had. :wavey:
