Over 50 viewings and no comments? That does not seem very fair. Having been working hares for a few weeks I know this is not an easy image to get, but I would like to see the animal a little less central in the frame. I also think you could make it a little bit punchier - simply toning down the highlights ought to be enough.

Great to see a hare image already. You've captured this guy very well but I'd love to see some more room in front. :toast:

I find the pose a little unusual and not as attractive as some. Also as a visual I have to agree with comments about it being a bit central and needing a bit more punch. However, I really like the eye contact and with a bit more work it will be a good picture. (Even without any further work it's still better than any hare image I have !!! )

I like that. It's a shame the foreground grass has interfered with a shot a bit. Having been looking at a friend's 300/4 and the problems she has had with it, the bokeh looks a bit busy (e.g. top left with the grass). I would try shooting without the protector filter (assuming you are using one) - that may make a big difference with this particular lens. It also seems to be a recurring problem on the 100-400 too, but not the sort of issue I have seen on any of my own lenses.

You've done well . These have not really started in earnest 'Up North' .As said a tadge central and perhaps a lower POV would be better .Still on a 300mm lens its a fair result .

cheers for the comments guys ,ive not actually done anything to it yet just thought i'd put it up and see how it looked !

Its a difficult one Simon. Not much room to play with and because they dont come along everyday its always great to get something on these guys. The eye looks nice and sharp and normally that can suffice but its so nice to get the mouth and whiskers as well. These look a little soft. You just have to be persistant and be prepaired to put in some hours.

Nits covered and I look forward to more as you and they get ready for the onslaught of spring.

a bit more space on the left, but still a nice shot. I'm envious of all these hare shots...
