I never cease to be amazed by the expressive faces of hares, 'not amused' sums it up nicely.

I like it as it's different and shows just how they can almost make themselves disappear. Nicely done Major, good light.

Gorgeous light on this one Major. Perhaps the expression does convey unease, however I am still amazed to how close you get, even with that 'lump of glass'.

very nice Major, I particularly like the warm lighting. It's impressive how well they flatten themselves into the terrain, no wonder I never spot them

Great behavioural shot. Excellent POV. He'll have to brush up on his camouflage technique if he wants to remain 'off camera'

Lovely shot, hard to get. Did you walk/crawl right up the centre line?
Posted by Major Gilbert on March 12, 2010 at 6:26 AM
This was in a vehicle Tom. It does make a good hide at times and providing you do it right Mr Hare will put up with it.
I visit and watch Hares as much as possible that way they get used to the vehicle.
I probably said it before I do actually talk to them as well even when they run away. I may be wrong but after a while I think they then dont see me as a threat and are more tolerant. At certain times of the year and can shout at them and they dont bother.

So thats why I can never spot them in a field. Shows how well these animals can camouflage themselves.

Great Shot Major.
