Monument Valley Winter images
Some images of Monument Valley from last month. Got snowed on both nights there. First night melted off pretty quick but the second night lingered around.

This first one is John Ford Point. John Ford and John Wayne made several movies here.

See more images on my blogs linked below.

All taken with my Panasonic LX-3.

And another of Artist Point in the afternoon. After the snow melted.

And finally the Mittens in monochrome.

Very nice Darren. This place is still on my bucket list. I have been close, but never in the valley. Number 2 is my favorite, due to the wonderful capture of the clouds. I can imagine Ethan, Marty, and Mose searching for Debbie among the monoliths. :toast:

Great shots, Darren. Did you get to stay the the Navajo View Hotel?

Super images, Darren.......love them all, but #1 is my favorite. I did the Hunt's Mesa guided trip in October with a friend from Colorado and now I am hooked. You were very fortunate to get snow images. They get few snows and when they do it lasts notime. Joe Rogers

Great stuff Darren! I also like #2 image...Reminds me of a great old Kodachrome shot.

Tthanks all.

Jan, yes you expect Ethan, Cpt York, or the Ringo Kid to come walking up any moment. For the movie buffs there are some neat books on the subject at the visitor center.

Tom, I camped out! Yes, even in Feb. Had some friends stay there and they really liked it.

See my tent set up at night here

Joe, this was my first trip, so I concentrated on the main valley loop and did not take any guided tour or goto Hunts Mesa. However, Hunts is high on my list when I return.

Karla, it does kinda have that look. I miss Kodachrome........

Nice series. My favorites are the 3rd and 4ths, pretty dramatic with those low clouds and the BW conversion works well
