If you are lacking light try Black and White and play with the contrast a wee bit.

500mm/Tpod
1600'/F4/400ASA
B&W conversion Pano 3:1 crop

Hi Tom,
Very nice indeed. Good to see something a little different from the norm. The black and white suits the snowy scene really well here and the pano crop works particularly well also.
I like the presentation too. :toast: :toast:

Yes indeedy. Works well for me - love the tones you've captured, and the ghosting background is lovely.

I like working in Black and white as it allows you to save a few from the e-trash simply because it cares nothing for colour/saturation and everything about contrast and graduation. Here is another worked up for a contents page. This is a relatively large crop but you can get away with a fair bit of grain with B&W as well  It's also accepted more as 'arty' by the artists  .

For course it helps if you have a clear white sky as, because of the snow, I have not cut or paste anything to achieve this.

Thats not arty! Thats just bloody excellent! Best kite I've seen since The Kite Runner. :-)

Nice stuff - the impact of the second needs no comment. Art? Not sure; I'm also not sure it matters. Nice to see things being driven in a different direction though.
Cheers,
Chris

Not a fan of B&W normally, but I'll make an exception for once. Two excellent images.

Both very nice indeed.. I tired the B&W conversion on a Dung-fly that came to my window yesterday and you're right it does create something completely different. Very inspirational and the second image is something very special..
