For those of you new to the forum, please take a look at the link below. It explains how to format text when posting or replying to a thread. In particular it explains how to post an active link.
This help link is also available as a pop-up when you post a new topic or reply to an existing thread. Just look for the Text Style Menu link on the page. (it is at the bottom of this page)

My suggestion would be to title the thread "HOW TO HYPERLINK" since that is what most people do not know how to do and what precipitated the suggestion for a sticky. Text Styles sounds like it tells you how to make text bold and italic, etc. which I think is why people don't read it.
