Who would have thought that from this rather bedraggled bird, he/she would turn into one of the worlds greatest flying birds, the Albatross. I wanted to just get the head and partly the bill in focus rather than everything, as I felt, if everything was 'pin sharp' it would dilute things.

Sharp where it needs to be Steve, personally I think a little more DoF would have been nice, esp given the techs, but that is not a deal breaker... Nice
I'm afraid I'm with those that would like more depth of field here. I hope you covered all the bases Steve, and got some front-focused images as well for focus stacking.

I'm not too bothered by the dof, but would like to see a shot with a tad more.
LOL at Roberts comment,....
Would love to see a large print of this.
Well seen and taken.

I think the DOF or lack of it works well. Great subject that reminds me of a jumper I had years ago.

I think it's stunning, and I cannot remember ever seeing a similar shot. Lovely capture and the did doesn't bother me. Robert, did you work for the local council?
Craig, AR is a very, very, good friend who I have had the privilege & pleasure of spending a far amount of time with. It's the second time I have been mentioned in despatches, but this one is extremely special where we ALL can make a difference and a must for all the right reasons in the hope to support a great cause, Tigers!
